History
In 1969 a group of hospital personnel directors met in Richmond to discuss the need for a state-wide personnel association. Out of that meeting (VAHPA) the Virginia Association for Hospital Personnel Administration was organized.
Today our organization has approximately 200 members who represent over 85% of the hospitals, as well as a number of long term care and other health organizations in the state of Virginia. We are a Region 3 chapter of the national organization – The American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
